The boats hull is made of marine grade aluminum. The hulls design is a deep-V planning design, with frames numbered from transom to bow. The propulsion system consists of two diesel engines with marine gears connected by shafts to two waterjets located at the transom.
The SPC-NLB hull collar is a patented design by SAFE Boats International. The collar uses polypropylene foam, which does not inherently absorb or retain water. The foam material is covered with woven polyester base cloth. The 42 FT Near Shore Lifeboat is manufactured by Safe Boat International.
